Everyone Sees Everything
Ukraine / May 23, 2022
SUMMARY
Ukraine’s Maidan revolution set off a chain reaction. To end years of entrenched corruption, a unique coalition of civic activists, tech experts, businesspeople and civil servants came together to reinvent public procurement. They created Prozorro, transforming e-procurement to put open data at its heart so everyone can see everything.
This has led to systematic changes in how the government buys everything. The reforms decreased corruption and increased competition, saving $6 billion. Now businesses have fair access to opportunities, governments get timely insights, and civil society can follow the money to make sure projects are delivered.
This video is part of a series of impact stories from the Open Contracting Partnership.
